Scottish smallpiper Brìghde Chaimbeul was invited to open the World Leaders’ Summit of COP 26 which was held in Glasgow in November. Brìghde played her own arrangements of two traditional melodies An Léimras and Harris Dance, both of which feature on her highly acclaimed album The Reeling. Brìghde said it was ‘a huge honour’ and that she was ‘very moved by the powerful words spoken by activists at the ceremony.’ |
