Hugh Mackay awarded Mozart-Gesellschaft Dortmund scholarship

We would like to offer our congratulations to former chorister and instrumentalist Hugh Mackay (class of 2017) on being awarded the prestigious Mozart-Gesellschaft Dortmund scholarship for 2021. The Mozart-Gesellschaft Dortmund supports young musicians by providing concert opportunities and financial support for other projects such as recordings and masterclasses. Previous holders of the scholarship have gone on to become well-established names across the international classical music scene. The scholarship will provide Hugh with the opportunity to perform Schumann’s Cello Concerto with the Bremer Philharmoniker in the Konzerthaus Dortmund in October 2021. Hugh said “This will be my professional concerto debut! The position does hold some prestige so I’m glad to have it.
